Head Teacher’s Update 17/03/2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

Industrial Action

You should now be aware that an agreement has been reached with the unions, The Scottish Government and COSLA to end further planned strike days. We are delighted that there will be no further disruption to learning this session.

Pupil Support Officer (PSO)

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work as part of the Bruntsfield team. The successful candidate will have substantial experience working with children and young people with social and emotional needs and families who need support.  They need to be creative, well organised, effective communicators who are passionate about supporting children and young people and their families.  They will be based in a newly created family and nurture room in the school.

Risk Factory

Primary Sevens have spent an exciting time over the last week at the Risk Factory in Chesser where they learned about emergency and challenging safety situations.  This is done in a fun way through role play and problem solving.

After School Clubs

After school club places for the last term of the year are still available to book.

Book here for your child:

Art Auction

It’s that time of year again…when we dig out our markers and paint brushes, hunt around for paper, canvases, glue sticks and more. Yes, it’s time for another Bruntsfield Primary Art Auction. At our last Bruntsfield Primary Art Auction two years ago, we raised £2,500 and with your help, amazing talent and creativity we know we can do even better! This time all money raised will go towards helping the school create their new Sensory/Nurture Room.

Here’s what we need you to do:

We would like you to create and/or donate some fabulous artworks over the next month.

Use any media (preferably 2D) and be ready to drop off your artworks by 21 April. We will confirm the drop off point nearer the time.

For more information please visit www.Bruntsfield.org

Can you help us to spread the word? We would be very grateful if you could share this flyer on your social media and talk with your artist friends. We are accepting work from all the artists around the world!

More details about how to volunteer soon.

Thanks, The Parent Council

Kind regards,

Stephen Gilhooley
