Dear Parents/Carers,
Assembly
In our lower school assembly today, we celebrated International Women’s Day and showed off our new token collection tubes for our House Points. In the Upper Assembly, we discussed our favourite books and reflected how World Book Day can make an impact on everyone. The children were also introduced to our new audio and visual technology which was very exciting.
Bruntsfield Primary School Short Story Collection annual novel project
This week author Ramy Habeeb, one of our parents, finished his writing workshops. Ramy has very kindly volunteered his time to delivering writing workshops across the school with every class, in preparation for this year’s Bruntsfield Primary School Short Story Collection. The children will now work on developing their own class stories with their teachers. We will be launching our new book next term!
Uniform
Our basic uniform (blue sweatshirt) should be worn everyday. We do make exceptions for Bruntsfield football hoodies on a PE day. If your child has grown out of their sweatshirt, please come and see us. We have many in storage we can give to you. If you need support with all elements of uniform, please use our special e-mail family@bruntsfield.edin.sch.uk
Lost Property
We have lots of sweaters, jackets, bottles and lunchbags in lost property. Please label your child’s belongings. If you are missing anything, do have a look at our lost property trolley on Fridays before and after school in the playground.
Mascot
We are delighted to announce that one of our local businesses, Harvest and Green has kindly agreed to sponsor our Brunzee Bee Mascot. Look out for Brunzee at future events Thanks to Harvest and Green for all their support. Their shop is located in Churchill, opposite the theatre.
Audio and Visual Equipment
We had a test run of our new huge screen, projector and microphones this morning at the Upper Assembly. The children were so impressed! Looking forward to our upcoming shows and events. The screen could be used for lots of school community events and fundraisers! Many thanks to the Parent Council who paid for all the equipment and installation. Photographs
You will have now received your proofs from our photographers, Tempest. If you wish to purchase your child’s photograph, please order online. You have 2 weeks to make your order.
Kind regards,
