Dear Parents/Carers,
Assembly
Mr Gilhooley started our whole school assembly with a song, chat and certificates. In the second half, special thanks go to Miss Doig. Ms Knust also deserves thanks. They led all the Children in Need dancing and fun. We had a great time raising money for Children in Need in our nightwear! Our grand total so far is: £1370! Many thanks to everyone who contributed.
Teams
Please remember to log on to teams regularly as this is the main way class teachers share information from school to home. Once or twice a week may be enough to ensure you are up to date with what is going on in class and beyond.
Water bottle and snack
Please ensure your child brings their water bottle to school every day and has access to a snack for break time. We do make some fruit available for those children who don’t always have access to healthy snacks, however we had a lot of requests for water and a replacement snack today (Friday) which was unusual.
Head Lice
Unfortunately, we have had a few cases of head lice in school. Did you know? You can go to ‘Minor Ailments’ in a local pharmacy and get treatment for free?
Check your child’s head regularly. Find out more information: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/skin-hair-and-nails/head-lice-and-nits/
Fischy Music
As a Fischy Music Online subscriber school we would love your help to let families know that there are still some tickets available for our live show at The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh this Sunday 17 November 2024 at 3pm. Come and see the Fischy Music Band perform live, with songs and sing-along fun for all the family. Watch the trailer and book your tickets now: http://www.thequeenshall.net/whats-on/fischy-music-show
Parking
Unfortunately, there are still a few families who think it is ok to park in the residents bays on Bruntsfield Avenue and take their children into school. This has been hard to patrol the past 2 weeks as there have been work vehicles in the area. Please remember the street is closed to traffic for safety reasons.
Kind regards,
Stephen Gilhooley
Head Teacher
