Dear Parents/Carers,
Assembly
P3 – P7 assembly was lead by Mr Gilhooley this week. We did our usual birthdays, announcements and achievements. We spoke about Digital Safety and what we should do if a stranger connected with us online, or how messages can never really be deleted. We also really enjoyed singing!
Polwarth Roundabout Redesign Coming Soon
Following community advocacy led by the Merchiston Community Council (MCC), the City of Edinburgh Council will be redesigning the Polwarth roundabout junction. New design proposals will be shared for public input this year. This project aims to address safety concerns raised in MCC’s 2023 report. To stay informed about developments and opportunities to share your feedback, join MCC’s mailing list at merchistoncc.org.uk/projects/the-polwarth-pavement-project.
Come and Sing!
I am writing from St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh. We are hosting a Children’s Come and Sing event on Saturday 8th March for children in P3-P7. This term, we will be learning songs from ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber. This is always a very popular event so we ask anyone interested to sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The afternoon will start at 2pm with an informal performance for parents at 4pm. I’ve attached the poster for the event and the link to the form for parents to sign up. I would be grateful if you could share this with any parents you think might be interested.
