Head Teacher’s Update 27/09/2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

Assembly

The Upper Assembly (P5-P7) joined the Scottish Primary Schools Climate Conference live and took part in a quiz.  The Lower Assembly shared their Growing Confidence learning.  The usual certificates, awards including a participation certificate for the national maths challenge and songs.

Calling all Musicians!

Last Spring and Summer Term, our P5 group received singing lessons with a music specialist from Edinburgh College and celebrated their achievements at a concert in Bruntsfield School in June.

Unfortunately, the specialist isn’t available to work with us this session.

If you have a specialism in music, especially singing, and you can spare up to two hours a week, please get in touch with Mr Gilhooley through the school office (admin@bruntsfield.edin.sch.uk)

BPS Bake Sale!

The Bake Sale is back next Friday, 4th October! This time, the goal is to raise funds for resources that support outdoor learning at The Links and beyond. We’re aiming to purchase items like dry bags, bug viewers, orienteering equipment, and more.

The P7 students will be helping out on the day, but if you’d also like to volunteer, that would be fantastic! The event will be held outside again, this time near the bike shed. The classes will get a chance to purchase some goodies during the school morning.

We’re looking for a wide variety of baked goods from different countries and cultures, which can be brought in by the children on the morning of the sale. There will also be a healthy section with fruit and non-sugary options. For just £1, all children can enjoy a treat.

If you’re available to assist the children  during the day, please join this WhatsApp group.

Parents and families are then welcome to buy baking from 11.45 to 12.30. 🧁🥨🥐

Thank you all and see you next Friday! 👩🏻‍🍳🧑‍🍳👨🏻‍🍳

Kind regards,

Stephen Gilhooley
