Parent Consultation for new Vision and Values for Bruntsfield
We are looking for a new Vision for our School Community for a new learning era and to kick start our curriculum redesign. This vision should be aligned with a new set of values and a motto that children can learn and remember.We have consulted with our staff and would like to now hear from our parents and children.We will be holding a short parent consultation for our new Vision and Values for Bruntsfield on Tuesday 5th September 2023 at 9am – 9.30am in our new Nurture Space. If you have time, come along for a coffee and a small 30 minute workshop with Mr Gilhooley.
If you can’t make it along, we would welcome your contribution through email (admin@bruntsfield.edin.sch.uk), or hand in through the School Office.
Assembly The theme for Assembly today was ‘Going for Goals’. We talked about perseverance, doing our best and personal achievement. We are looking for great things from all our learners this year.
Labels After a week and a half of the term, our lost property is already filling up! Please label everything your child owns (including sweaters, cardigans, PE kits, lunchboxes and drinking bottles.) Hopefully we can avoid additional family costs and reunite all possessions back to their owner.
Latecoming Almost every child was on time and in their lines ready to learn last week. This week, it hasn’t been so impressive. Please ensure your child is on time this session and doesn’t miss valuable learning time.
Parent Equalities Reference Group – Call for parent members
City of Edinburgh Council are looking for parent volunteers to join the Parent Equalities Reference group. They would particularly welcome parents and carers from under-represented groups. The role of the Reference Group is to give an ‘on the ground’ view to inform the authority’s Equalities work and provide a link with parent councils and community organisations. It will meet 4 times per school session. Any parents who are already supporting or would like to support Equalities work in their school / Learning Community and are interested in sitting on the Parent Equalities Reference Group are welcome to contact Annemarie.Procter@ea.edin.sch.uk for more information. Dates for the Diary** Please note an error in the key dates from the update last week. Spring Term ends on Thursday 28th March and not 29th March. Additionally, school reports will be issued on this date.
