Dear Parents/Carers,
Assembly
The Upper Assembly met Jamie Andrew, an inspirational mountaineer who lost limbs due to adverse weather on an expedition. He talked about overcoming adversity. We also had a presentation from Junior Duke linking learning at school and in the home. In the lower assembly we talked about the Christmas story and heard from some of our school musicians who were playing the guitar and the piano.

P1 Show
We had a fantastic P1 Show. The children performed really well and parents and children sang along to the songs. Many thanks to all the P1 staff for their hard work to bring it all together. Additional thanks to one of our parents, Jerome Veyret, who filmed and edited the production.
Winter Fair
The Winter Fair was very well attended by all our community. It was great to see so many people having a really good time. Many thanks to all our volunteers who were on top form! We made £1844.50 profit (excluding the class craft sales and activities, which went directly to the school).

Help Make the Magic Manageable!
There are so many demands at this time of year, the list just keeps on getting longer and the cost continues to rise. You can find a list of free and low-cost activities to do in the run up to and during the winter school holidays on the Family Holiday Activities webpage. The City of Edinburgh council are updating the webpage all the time, so please keep checking back in for new activities.
Support for Families
Check out the other Support for Families webpages for lots of other supports and activities provided by different organisations throughout the year.
The Financial support webpage might be particularly helpful just now when trying to stretch the budget for those extra holiday costs.
Winter Holidays
School finishes for the Winter Holidays on Friday 20th December at the usual Friday times. The children return on Tuesday 7th January 2025.
Kind regards,
Stephen Gilhooley
