Dear Parents/Carers,
What a wet week! However, it’s not dampened our spirits, nor stopped us going outside.
Meet the Teacher
Last reminder. All parents from P2-P7 are invited to attend our ‘Meet the Teacher’ next Wednesday from 4pm to 5.30pm. Mr Gilhooley will present twice – at 4pm and again at 4.45pm in the Lower Hall. This give flexibility to parents who work, or wish to go straight into the classroom with their child. Your children will share their learning environment and some of their learning with you in classrooms. Looking forward to seeing you then!
Road Safety
Unfortunately, we still have some parents who think it’s ok to drop their children on Montpelier Park or Bruntsfield Avenue, or in some cases outside the school. I have spoken to some parents this week about this issue. Our traffic exclusion zones are in place to keep our school community safe. Please consider the whole school community when planning your drop off and pick up.
Foyer Design Winners
It took me a while to judge the best designs. The children came up with lots of fantastic welcoming design ideas including lighting, tables, plants, a fruit bowl for those who forget snacks and even a charity box!
Our winners were Mila, Emile and Ayla from P3 and Nata P5a, Maia P5b and Martha & Cora from P6b. They will have a celebratory ‘tea’ with me in the HT Office after assembly next Friday. We will start our upgrade asap.
Pupil Leadership Groups
P7 and P6 have been meeting their new P2 and P1 buddies this week and other groups are forming including Rights Respecters, Eco, Equalities and Pupil Council. Lots of excitement around the school Hopefully every child will feel they are participating in their school and their voice is heard.
Unclaimed bike
There has been a blue Carrera mountain bike chained to the gates at the bike shed end of the playground for the last 3 months. Please collect if it belongs to you – otherwise we will donate it to the Cycle Club!
Have a great weekend!
