Dear Parents and Carers,                                            Bruntsfield News 23 November 2017

  • You may have heard about the Janitorial Review which has been ongoing with City of Edinburgh Council. I am pleased to say, we have been given the same hours as before (one 36 hour and one 24 hour contract). We shall have cover from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday for 8 months and during the 4 winter months cover will be from 6am to 6pm. Their breaks remain the same. We shall be told the plans for evening lets from 6-9pm and Saturdays when the process is complete.

  • I have requested the pot hole in the front playground, by the main gate be repaired. I shall let you know when this is to be done.

  • Edinburgh Sportshall Athletics Final: Bruntsfield Primary School were 2nd with a score of 170 and received Silver medals at Meadowbank Sports Centre. They were narrowly beaten by Craiglockhart Primary School, who had a score of 173 and received Gold medals and the Hope Trust Cup. Craiglockhart and Bruntsfield Primaries will represent Edinburgh at the East of Scotland Sportshall Competition on Wednesday 21 February 2018, venue to be confirmed.

  • Aamir (P7) won two Gold and one Bronze medal at the Taekwon-do Competition on Tuesday. If you want to join up, there are spaces in the classes at Craiglochart Leisure Centre on Saturdays at  1-2pm (fliers were given out recently).

  • Christmas Card Competition Winners: Richa (P5) won Ian Murray’s and Sofia (P3) won Daniel Johnson’s. Well done to all who entered.

  • Remember to come along to the Winter Fayre on Friday 24 November, 6pm, it is always a great family event.

Kind regards,

Carol Kyle
