Dear Parents/Carers,
Assembly
The Upper Assembly talked about the promise https://thepromise.scot/ and linked this with children’s rights. The Lower Assembly spoke about the decline of the honey bee and what we can do to help.
P4 Show
We all had an amazing time at the P4 Show. It was good to see so many parents and families there to support the children. They reenacted some of the stories of Roald Dahl in music and dance. Many thanks to the children and the whole P4 Team for all their hard work.
Sports Day
We were very lucky to have a lovely sunny day for our Sports day last week. There was such a lovely atmosphere around the Links all day! The winning house team this year was Viewforth. See the captains with the shield on our X page. Follow us @Bpslearners
Talent Show
We had a fun morning last Friday. We are so lucky to have so many really talented children in our school! We had singing, dancing, gymnastics, instrumentalists, comedy and even a ventriloquist! Every aspect was managed by our P7 team. Many thanks to them for organising the event.
Upper winners Cora (P6/5); Lucia P6a and Cora/Millie and Iona from P7a and P7b.
Lower winners Lena (P3b); Muso (P3b) and Ollie and Atti (P4c)
Parent Consultations
All our staff are looking forward to seeing you at your preferred 10 minute time slot over the next week. Please ensure you are on time as we try not to run over as this will impact on other families and creates a waiting time.
P7 Camp – Lagganlia
Over the next 2 weeks, two cohorts of our P7 children will be having the time of their lives in Lagganlia – a camp not far from Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park. We will have 2 teams of staff there to support all of our children over the two weeks. We are looking forward to many adventures including camping outdoors, and a canoeing and mountaineering expedition!
I will be up north with group 1 all next week. Our Senior Leaders in school will be available to help should you need to contact us for any reason.
Spare bikes
If your child has grown out of their bike (age 8-11), please consider donating it to the school. We currently have a few families who don’t own a bike and therefore can’t participate in Bikeability training. Many thanks!
Parent Pay glitch
There has been a universal glitch in the Parent Pay lunch orders. We have been proactive and have enough food for a Plan B. However, could we ask that you check your ParentPay bookings until the end of term to make sure they are booked and on the system.
Kind regards,
Stephen Gilhooley
