Head Teacher’s Blog 19/11/2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

• Book Bags: P1, P2 and P3 children have all received their ‘Book Bags’, they were very excited about the selection of the books. One of our parents, Catherine Rayner, is the author of ‘Arlo, the lion who couldn’t sleep’ which is in the P1 Book Bags.
• Sharing the Learning: P3 have been learning about colour tone and they used their knowledge and skills to paint beautiful skylines. They then cut silhouettes of buildings to create city sky lines which are really gorgeous. Una in P3/4 also designed a new cover for her reading book, which is really beautiful. Well done everyone!
• The Eric Liddell Centre have a Children’s Festive Drawing Competition titled Winter Festivities, enter before the 21st November to win the opportunity to turn the lights on at their ‘Light Switch On Event’, a voucher for an Afternoon Tea in Café Connect, along with other lovely prizes. The children’s drawings will all be displayed in the Eric Liddle Centre from the 27th November for everyone to enjoy.
• School Photos: we are very pleased we are now able to start school photos again. Our office staff will make the bookings and the dates will be shared with you.
• Covid 19 Update: the numbers of confirmed positive cases is rising in our community. We shall continue do all we can to help reduce the spread of the virus in school. Please continue to help us by taking lateral flow tests and if your child shows symptoms, please take a PCR test. If we can help in any way, please let us know.
• Parent Council Meeting: the minutes from last night’s meeting will be posted on the Parent Council website. If you would like to join any of the events, please see their website at https://bruntsfield.org

As always, if there is anything else we can do to help, please let us know via admin@bruntsfield.edin.sch.uk
