P3 Summer Term

Welcome to P3 Summer Term!

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Week Beginning 8th June πŸƒ

This week on Wednesday is Virtual Sports Day! We have a lot of sports themed activities that we hope you will enjoy taking part in! Our focus for science this week is “forces”, and thinking scientifically. For maths, we will look in more detail at various forms of diagram such as Carroll, and we have a range of activities to practise our literacy!

Mrs Lamond has another lovely assembly for you to watch this week, it was great to see everything that the children had shared, remember to send in your achievements!

Mrs Lamond’s Assembly

Most are up and running on Teams now, but apologies to those who haven’t been able to get access. Here is an FAQ sheet for those of you who are still running into problems. We will have two hand-in pieces of work this week.

We aim to return the work within a week. Late hand ins are allowed! We know you’re busy! πŸ™‚

While we will check in on the playground it is not supervised at all times. It is a good opportunity for children to learn the bounds of online conduct.

June has come around, and with it some sunshine! Hopefully you can make the most of the opportunities to learn outside. Please check the weekly plan for a guide to what to expect for this week.

Mrs Lamond has prepared the assembly for this week, and we are continuing the theme of being able to deal with unexpected events, very timely! Make sure to send her any work or achievements that you would like to share for the sharing assembly.

β˜€οΈ Weekly Overview β˜€οΈ

Week Beginning 25th May

Eid Mubarak everyone! Week two of the website, and now we move onto integrating Teams! By now you should have received an Office 365 login, which will allow access to the Teams app. Through the Teams app, you should be able to see that your child has been added to the correct Class Team. This week we will use teams for playground chat and for submitting a piece of writing. Remember: you will only be unmuted on Teams when you have completed the online code of conduct, which will be found on Teams.

This week in maths we move our money focus onto adding totals and calculating change. For literacy, we will looking at Proper Nouns, having some practice and the β€œer” spelling pattern. For our wider curriculum, we will look at how Eid is celebrated, enjoy some world music, and learn about the Child Right of the Month which is about access to things that keep us healthy.

Happy Learning!

Though you will be able to share your work with us on Teams, if you’d like to see your work in the assembly don’t forget to send your achievement to the school admin address with the subject line “For Mrs Lamond’s Assembly”.

Week Beginning 18th May

Well done on finding our website! Hopefully this will be easier to navigate, will reduce the amount of communication for you to sift through and allow you to schedule the work to fit your own circumstances. Access the daily learning plans and the weekly overview by clicking on their links, which should send you straight to the pdf. For extra ideas, more help and more optional activities, look at the β€œextra” column.

Today is the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week, so there will be some activities to encourage the children to look after themselves. The theme for this year is kindness; I hope you remember to be kind to yourselves, and check in on friends and family to see how they are coping. Thursday will hopefully also have a fun large art project!

Our maths focus for this week is money; take every opportunity to use real money – children love sorting out old piles of coins. For literacy we continue to look at adverbs and have lots of tasks to improve our reading. Our spelling focus is β€œir”, another digraph with several pronunciations so consider the variety of English you speak at home.

Happy learning!
