Assembly
Assembly today was dedicated to Children in Need. Ms Knust and Miss Doig led all the fun and games this morning in the Stage Hall. Thank you for the donations. We hope to have collected a lot of money for children around Scotland and the UK who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Winter Fair – Saturday 25th November 2-5pm
Each stage (P1 – P7) will have a Christmas Art and Craft Stall at the front of the school. They will be managed by the children. The proceeds from these stalls will remain with each class. The children will then decide what they would like to buy with the money they have raised.
Uniform
Sign up for helping so we can have a great event for our children: https://bit.ly/WinterFairVols23
Just another reminder that casual hoodies and jumpers should not be worn during the school week. Every child should be wearing school colours. PE clothing should be worn under the school sweatshirt. On PE days, the school football hoodie can be used as an alternative.
Head Lice
We have had a case of headlice in one of our classes. Please check your child’s head regularly and be vigilant. More information can be found here: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/skin-hair-and-nails/head-lice-and-nits/
HMIe Follow Through Inspection – Monday 13th November
The team from City of Edinburgh Council came to Bruntsfield to see the progress we have made with the two recommendations from the HMIe Report from March 2020. They witnessed wonderful creative lessons in all our classes and also were able to see that all our attainment progress judgements were underpinned by robust data tracking systems. There will be a report available on our website in the next few weeks.
Kind regards,
Stephen Gilhooley
