Head Teacher’s Update 19/05/2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

Assembly today
In the Lower Dining Hall this morning, P2-P4 explored endangered species and what we can do to protect them. In the Upper Stage Hall, P5-P7 addressed Mental Health Week and focussed in on connectivity and the importance of being connected to others. Ask your child about these topics when you are together.

Family appointments
If you have to pick your child up for any reason during the school day, please let the School Office and the relevant teacher know by e-mail or letter with details before the event, please.

Fruit/snacks
We do promote healthy eating for all our children in Bruntsfield. We hope that you can support this by giving your child a daily snack which is nutritious and healthy. If there are children who don’t have snack for any reason, we will provide this discreetly.

Summer Fair
The Pupil Council are planning an area in the school grounds set aside to sell and promote International Street Food. We would like to have 4 or 5 nationalities/cultures represented. If you can help cook or bake something from your country, please let us know.

Bruntsfield Pirates Book
All our classes have now finished writing their short story for our forthcoming book’ Bruntsfield Pirates’. We will be taking orders for the book in June. A huge thanks to Ramy Habeeb who has volunteered a huge amount of his time to work with the classes on this exciting project.
If you know of a company that would like to donate some sponsorship money to this project, please get in touch with Ms Lamond through the school office.

Free Bus Pass
We have had this link in a previous Update, but only 141 parents have responded. It is your child’s entitlement to free travel in Scotland and will help our school cut costs for trips. Please have a look when you can.
