Head Teacher’s Update 24/02/2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

Lunches

Please be reminded to order school lunches by Wednesday evening for the following Monday.  During school holidays, lunches should be ordered by Wednesday in the last week of term for the new term.  On Monday, we had over 100 children with no lunches booked which caused a lot of extra work.

Late coming

Unfortunately, children are still turning up for school late and in some cases, missing a lot of learning.  Please ensure your child gets to school and in the lines on time.

Music

Our newly ordered music equipment has arrived at last!  Next week we will stock our 3 empty trollies for each floor with lots of instruments and percussion for our children to enjoy.  Thanks to Addie Hanley and the Parent Council for all your support and help.  I’m looking forward to hearing regularly the sound of music around the building!

Parent helpers/Volunteers

We are looking for more parents to help with learning – especially in the early stages.  If you think you could support writing, numeracy or reading groups and you have a bit of spare time, please get in touch!

Industrial action

Please be reminded that school will be closed to all pupils on Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st March due to industrial action.  School will re-open on Thursday 2nd at the usual times.

Have a great weekend!

Kind regards,

Stephen Gilhooley
