Head Teacher’s Update 20/01/2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

Our Learning

We have enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year in Assembly and in classrooms.  We are lucky to have so many in our community who have Chinese heritage and can share their experiences with us.

We can’t wait for our Burns Assembly next Friday.  I know everyone is working hard on their chosen poem.

Industrial Action – 25th January 2023

You will have received a letter during the week detailing the planned strike day on Wednesday.  The school will be closed during the day.  After School Care will communicate with you directly.  Should you wish to keep your child busy during the day, you can find planned activities here: https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/schools/support-home-learning

Head Lice

There have been an incidence of head lice this week in school.  Please ensure you check your child’s head regularly.  More information can be found here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/.

Winter Fair

The money the children raised form their enterprising stalls at the Winter Fair has been shared with the teachers at each stage.  The children will decide what they would like to buy for their classroom.  This has generated lots of excitement from the children!

Parent Consultations

Don’t forget to book your time slot for Parent Consultations w/b 30th January!

Kind regards,

Stephen Gilhooley
