Dear Parents and Carers,

• P6 campers are having a great time and doing really well. They told me the weather was mild and not as windy as they thought it would be!
• Open Day for next sessions parents and carers of P1 catchment pupils is Wednesday 31 October 2018. 9.15-10.15am and 1.45-2.45pm. Details will be posted on our website.
• Enrolment for P1 pupils starting in August 2019 is Wednesday 7 November 2018. 2018. 9.15-11.15am and 1.45-2.45pm. Details will be posted on our website and sent to nurseries.

You asked about toilets in school, we have:

• Girls toilets: located at the west side of the school (20 cubicles, 5 wash hand basins with sensor taps)
• Boys toilets: located at the east side of the school (9 cubicles, 2 urinals, 5 wash hand basins with sensor taps)
• A toilet for children who do not feel comfortable in the gender specified ones

We also have:

• 5 adult toilets, located at the top and bottom of the red and blue stairways and one next to my office
• 2 ladies toilets beside the staff room
• 3 toilets in the swimming pool section of the building (2 at the pool side and one in the office section)

We shall always allow the children to go to the toilet as and when they need. We encourage them to go during break, lunch and before they go on a journey before an excursion.

• The City of Edinburgh Council Sports Development Team have a programme for P3 – P7 pupils running at Portobello High School in the October holidays.
