Head Teacher’s Blog 13/9/18

Dear Parents and Carers,

  • Last session you gave us feedback on our class Welcome Books and Curricular Overviews. From this we designed  Class Timetables. I am pleased you found them helpful. Therefore, we updated them for this session and the class teachers gave them out, along with the Curricular Overview for each stage. Copies have been added to our website, in the class section.
  • Individual and family photos are on Wednesday 7 November by Tempest and will be ready before the end of term for any Christmas gifts. Class photos will be in the traditional style and taken on Tuesday 19 March 2019.
  • The Friday Girls Badminton Club have spaces (12.45-1.45pm). If you would like to join in, please enrol via the Parent Council Clubs site.
  • As part of investment in Edinburgh’s roads and pavements, I am told the road from Home Street up to Bruntsfield Place will be resurfaced and work is scheduled to begin on Monday 15 October 2018 and will take approximately six weeks. Further details have been emailed to you. Class teachers will talk to their classes about road safety, and stress the importance of extra care during road works. It would be great if you could also talk to your children about the safest way to and from school during the street closures. As always, please avoid parking close to the school gates. Many thanks.

Please remember Monday 17 September is an Edinburgh Holiday and the school will close for the day. Enjoy!

Kind regards,

Carol Kyle
