The 6 P6’s and 3 P5’s who represented Bruntsfield at the P6 tournament last Friday were totally amazing. We played 7 matches and won them all very convincingly😊
All the early morning extra training sessions made a massive difference as we literally outclassed everyone and we were the only school to take p5’s too.
Also big thanks to the P7 players who also came into school early every day to help coach the younger ones- brilliant club team spirit and shows again hard work and commitment pays off.
Sadly Edinburgh council didn’t provide any trophies or medals which is a shame because sometimes the lure of a medal teaches the players to be a bit more competitive and to learn to win well and lose graciously with the determination if they do lose to work harder for the next one.
- Bruntsfield vs duddingston 7-0
- Bruntsfield vs dean park 6-0
- Bruntsfield vs st ninians 5-0
- Bruntsfield vs crammond 4-1
- Bruntsfield vs juniper green 3-1
- Bruntsfield vs corstophine 6-1
- Bruntsfield vs st peters 6-0
I wish I had more hours in the day to do more with the kids- its just brilliant to watch them develop skills and have fun at the same time
FOOTBALL
The P6 football team is also doing really well. We had a very close match against south morningside prmary P7 (so a year older) last week and managed to just win that one 8-7. Our squad, in which we have 14 players, had to dig really deep to pull off that one as it was something like 5-2 at half time to south Morningside so my team talk was a bit “Alex Ferguson” at the last break 😊
Best wishes
Lorna
