Head Teacher’s Blog 06/10/2017

Hello everyone,

  • It is very disappointing to have to mention cars reversing again whilst children are arriving and leaving school. Please be aware, children cannot see or predict what drivers are doing. We definitely do not want any accidents. I am told, the police have been informed of an incident this week and will investigate. Parking away from the school and walking a short distance is appreciated by all. Come on everyone – give walking it a shot!
  • School Telephone Number: The only number for Bruntsfield Primary School is 0131 229 1821. We did have another number, but it is no longer in use. If you have a phone set to automatic dialling, please make sure you only have 0131 229 1821 entered.
  • As winter approaches we prepare for and aim to prevent outbreaks of Norovirus. If you have a sickness bug, please remember to stay off school for 48 hours as advised by CEC. Further information available at  nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk
  • Website: we have made a start and shall continue to make changes over the next few weeks, apologies for any inconvenience whilst we do this.
  • If you would like to give suggestions on school session dates (timing of school holidays and how the school year should look) in 2019/20 and beyond: please complete the survey at http://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/schhol,  before Friday 10 November 2017.
  • P6/7’s Girls Football: P7’s won their first game away to James Gillespie’s Primary School (7 goals to 4). The P6’s won against Pentland (8 goals to 6). The P7’s beat Mary Erskine’s (5 goals to 4 coming back from being 3-0 down early in the game). Well done indeed!

Kind regards,

Carol Kyle
