World Book Day

WORLD BOOK DAY

World Book Day takes place on Thursday 2 March and we would like to invite you to join us in helping your child ‘Do something Booky’ to promote and celebrate reading.

World book day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading especially for children. To help them get started on their reading journey, every child receives a £1 World Book Token that can be exchanged for one of the ten special World book Day books or used to get £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more. You can find out more about the books at www.worldbookday.com/books

Your child’s token will come home with them next week and can be redeemed at most UK bookshops.

This year the Pupil Council would like each pupil to dress up as their favourite book character on Friday 3 March to share at Assembly; as school class photographs take place on Thursday 2 March.

We continue to focus on reading for enjoyment through Bruntsfield Reads and the First Minister’s Reading Challenge passports. The links below provide some resources and ideas for World Book Day.
