Dear Parents and Carers,
WORLD BOOK DAY THURSDAY 3 MARCH
World Book Day takes place on Thursday 3 March and we would like to invite you to join us in helping your child make the most of this special occasion.
World book day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading especially for children. To help them get started on their reading journey, every child receives a £1 World Book Token that can be exchanged for one of the ten special World Book Day books or used to get £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more. You can find out more about the books at www.worldbookday.com
Your child’s token will come home with them this week and can be redeemed at most UK bookshops.
This year the Pupil Council would like each pupil to dress up as their favourite book character on Thursday 3 March. Any donations would be gratefully received and be a valuable contribution to our fundraising focus this session which is our school playground improvements.
The Pupil Council would also like everyone to participate in Ditch a book on Thursday 3 March. The idea is to bring a book in good condition, and to ditch it. The ‘ditched’ books will be donated.
Many thanks for your support.
Kind Regards
Natalie Borrowman
